Our History

Pastor Jon Kelly served on staff at Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago for over 4 years under the leadership and direction of Pastor James MacDonald. Feeling a call to plant a vertical, disciple making, Christ centered church, Pastor Jon was sent to the Harvest Training Center in Elgin, IL to be equipped as a Lead Pastor and Church Planter. After the 4 months of training, Pastor Jon and Pastor Kent Steiner, along with a core group of people from Harvest Bible Chapel, were sent out with the blessings of Pastor James MacDonald and the Harvest Bible Chapel Elders to plant a church in the city of Chicago. After much prayer, wise counsel,  and seeking the Lord as to where in the city he was sending this team, it became clear that Chicago's Westside was the destination. God then opened an opportunity to not only hold church services in Michele Clark High School, but also to partner with the school to reach it's teenagers and the Austin community. The church was officially launched in March 2016 on Easter Sunday. Chicago West Bible Church is excited to join in the work that God is doing on the Westside in the Austin community! We are a part of Great Commission Collective, a fellowship of churches located throughout the world that are committed to planting, strengthening, and multiplying Great Commission churches.

We are trusting God to build his church, reach the lost, and restore what is broken as we gladly lay down our lives to spread the fame of the name of Jesus Christ on the Westside.
